Lori Carsillo

Known for her deep and thoughtful interpretations of the Great American Songbook, San Francisco Bay Area native Lori Carsillo (pronounced “car-SILL-oh”) was raised on a healthy diet of Julie London, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, and other jazz greats. With an incisive but emotionally restrained sensibility, her unaffected, less-is-more sound shines on multiple albums and singles. Lori Carsillo has earned an avid following with her quietly riveting performances.

But her muse has led her in many different directions. In recent years, Carsillo has delved into producing and composing music for independent films, bringing her keen musicality into multimedia settings. Her original compositions have been featured in several short films, including “Out of the Blue” for Gloria (2018) and "Monsters and Madness" for Welcome to the Strange (2018).

Her first foray into country music is “Pretty Mess”, a hustler's anthem written for the short film Lemonade (2023) directed by Daryl Della. In 2024, Carsillo arranged Linkin Park's hit song Faint into a series of smoky jazz remakes for the film Ninja Killface (2024).

A master storyteller with no shortage of new tales to tell, Carsillo continues to extend her creative purview. She’s a jazz artist with a restless streak, eager to discover what comes next.
