Los Gatos Blancos' third album has been a labor of love 3 years in the making. Combining revamped material from their humble beginnings with new songs which have never been performed live, Mi Espanol es Feo reflects the band's roots and progression through years of writing, recording and performing together. In keeping with LGB's tongue-in-cheek attitude, the album title pokes fun at Dave and Jim's Spanish skills (or lack thereof) and the guero-style approach to honing their own hybrid of Latin Jazz and Flamenco guitar playing that they consider "Latin Fusion". With songs inspired by the members' recent life events and development as musicians, the expansive melodic landscape and complementary rhythmic underpinnings of Mi Espanol es Feo create rich narrative journeys without ever saying a word. Press Play, turn up the volume, and come along for the ride...the music is anything but feo! The duo's musical backgrounds are not immediately apparent when listening to Los Gatos Blancos' brand of instrumental Latin Fusion; to say that their musical style has changed over the years is an understatement. Los Gatos Blancos emerges as the latest and most accessible culmination of their musical partnership.
