After el Corte disbanded in 1988, singer/songwriter Javier Calamaro decided to create a new project called los Guarros, playing along with guitarist Daniel Herrera. After releasing 1989's Prostitución y Vagancia, the Latin rock act was voted Revelation of the Year. In 1990 los Guarros released Rosas en Tu Pecho, followed by a self-titled album in 1992. That same year, the band opened for Joe Cocker at Buenos Aires' Velez Sarsfield stadium. Veneno was recorded in 1993 and Acústico y Rock and Roll in 1994. After a temporary breakup, los Guarros returned in 1997 with Pampas Lisérgicas. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
