On debut solo EP “Gaps,” Nashville-based artist and producer Lowe Minor quickly carves out a distinct space within the current alt-R&B and adjacent pop scenes. Combining elements of lo-fi, ambient, trap, and dance pop production with engaging hip hop and rock-tinged vocals, Minor creates a sound that’s both dexterous and deeply layered. With influences old and new worn plainly on the sleeve, his tracks play like clever mixtapes of a drum machine-inspired youth that began sometime in the '80s and Benjamin Buttoned its way to the present.
