LTJ is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Miguel Varelas—a name that has become synonymous with raw emotion, intricate guitar work, and deeply introspective lyricism.

From early days playing in worship bands to rock projects alongside friends, LTJ’s journey has been one of evolution and self-discovery. He carved out his own path as a solo artist, gaining a reputation in local music scenes for his mesmerizing guitar skills and hauntingly poetic songwriting. Now, as the lead guitarist for CLAY Worship and one half of the duo Ethereal, LTJ has found a space where he can be unapologetically himself.

Growing up in a small town with few fellow musicians, LTJ turned solitude into creativity. Whether performing with intimate folk projects, leading worship, or crafting layered compositions alone in his room, he found ways to bring his sound to life. With limited collaborators, he mastered the art of looping—stacking melodies, riffs, and textures from any instrument that could be plugged into a pedal. This unconventional approach became the foundation of his distinctive, immersive sound.

LTJ’s music is deeply influenced by nature, spirituality, and the search for meaning. His songwriting wrestles with the tension between faith and doubt, the desire for transcendence, and the longing to belong. Through his art, he captures the essence of these struggles in a way that resonates universally. In his own words:

“The silent sun will surely rise again.”
