(But that's the thing about being remembered.)
It's up to you—the impression you leave.
Own your mistakes. Cry in public. Change your mind.
Society's broken a bit, see.
We measure value by the depth of our interactions, and we're irrelevant until we move someone.
Until they're stirred by us somehow. At least a little.
You're irreplaceable, honey.
You could do damage by sharing that soul—by giving nobodies and somebodies a taste of the “you” only your closest friends see.
The drunk at 4:52am “you” who accepts she’s lonely.
Who theorizes about life because her mom’s in the hospital for a mental disorder, and her dad cried on his birthday.
The “you” who doesn’t understand why God’s so cruel.
Admit to missing smoking.
Admit you'd kill for a cigarette or a blunt—then remember the promise you made to yourself.
Sigh.
(That’s the thing about being remembered:)
You have to be different. Interesting. Startling.
You have to spark ideas that make people question themselves.
Strip them of lifeless perspectives and shake up their day—leave them with curiosity.
Don’t you want to have a conversation like that?
One that leaves you inspired?
And don’t you want to inspire?
Careful, though, dear. Don’t give yourself away.
Allow questions. Ask questions.
Have purpose in your honesty. Be open with limitations.
Maybe it's for you—that mind-blowing conversation.
Maybe you're learning about yourself.
Those random talks...
They make the world so much sweeter.
What makes you tick?
