South Sudanese/Australian artist LUATÈ. is an emerging alt-pop singer/songwriter based in Brisbane. A modern-day Tracey Chapman, LUATÈ. creates highly emotive work with lyrics laden with viscous imagery. Coining the term ‘existentialist pop’ LUATÈ. describes her work as being “at its marrow, an acute and urgent pursuit of honesty.” Sonically, she has been compared to artists like Nao, Lorde & Kira Puru.
Among her more notable ventures in the south east QLD music scene, LUATÈ. has performed at Brisbane Festival, Bleach* Festival, Sofar Sounds and many more venerated stages across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. While performing has always been an auxiliary passion for this young artist, her craft fervently remains in lyricism. Over the years she’s written for and with many peers including Gold Coast artist and Gold Coast Music Award recipient DENNIS. Among the many songs the two have co-written is, Trap Door, a singe that was shortlisted as a finalist for the 2020 Gold Coast Music Awards’, ‘Song of the Year’.
