Lucy and the Mean Times are a 7-piece country/folk band comprised of highly skilled, professional, young musicians from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Formed in 2020, the global pandemic did little to slow us down, with our debut single, a fresh and distinct cover of Daddy Lessons by Beyonce, being released on all streaming platforms in March 2021.

Let’s Meet the Mean Times:

Lucy Brindle (Lead Vocal): A Northern lass who loves nothing more than listening to vinyl and a good, strong gin.

Connor Bolan (Guitar): A fan of soft rock, alternative/indie, drinking JD and singing falsetto.

Gabriel Askew (Trumpet): A conductor, arranger and teacher whose favourite things are food, football and foreign countries…in that order!

Manon Davis (Saxophone): A regular feature across the UK, including prestigious events such as Edinburgh Fringe who enjoys folk, pop, and theatre.

Tom Plumridge (Drums/Percussion): Another regular in the UK music scene, enjoying pop, musical theatre, and big band.

Tom Crofton-Green (Violin/Mandolin): Avid pancake flipper, reader of Greek mythology, and listener of the Punch Brothers.

Gabrielle Carberry (Bass): A versatile musician, who enjoys cycling, jazz, and Italian food.
