Lucy Charlotte is an English singer/songwriter who plays folk and country style guitar but sings with a powerful and dramatic voice, mixing the two elements into a unique blend that sets her apart from other singer-songwriters. She hides secrets and personal stories within her songs, framed as whimsical folk-tales that speak universal truths.
Lucy was raised in Canterbury, UK, where she grew up singing in a soul band. She taught herself to play guitar and began performing solo at 18. Influenced by female folk singers like Joan Baez, Laura Marling, and Lisa Hannigan, Lucy started writing her own songs during a year living in Exeter. The songs Lucy wrote during this time formed the foundation for her debut EP, Storm in a Teacup, which was recorded and released in 2015.
In 2019, Lucy began working on her long awaited follow up - Wheel of Fortune. This EP, released in March 2020, was created in collaboration with guitarist James Hale, and producers Elliot Norris and Sam Mummery of Good Neighbour Records. While still rooted in folk, this new collection of songs signifies a dramatic change in Lucy's style and showcases a darker and much bigger, cinematic sound.
