Luera – Music as Survival Art
Born in Portugal and raised in Germany, music has always been my passion. My parents loved music, and my grandmother often sang her favorite songs to me. When I first saw Britney Spears on TV, I knew I wanted to sing.
My childhood was marked by trauma, and I had no support for my dream. But I believed God and the angels were watching over me. Singing became my refuge. My journey began in a school band, where I discovered the joy of performing live.
A turning point came when I spent countless hours rehearsing, performing, and creating music in the girl group named Double Kiss. Later, I pursued a solo path, writing and recording my own songs, which led to the formation of the band @Liberation. For over a year, we wrote new music and performed live until my health forced me to stop.
Chronic illnesses, including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, multiple chemical sensitivity, fibromyalgia, and endometriosis, confined me to my home. In 2023, I found new strength and began releasing my self-written songs, which reflect my journey and hope.
Though my life is different from the dreams of my childhood, one truth remains: All storms pass. If my music touches you, I invite you to listen and join me on this ride.
