Born into a musical family in 1980, Luke Purdie was destined to be a songwriter and performer from the very beginning.
By the age of thirteen and whilst the other kids ran riot in the local park, Luke was busy cutting his teeth as a musician touring the Netherlands with his parents’ country music show, performing to thousands of European fans. He credits these formative years as gifting him his life-long love of country music and influencing his early song writing style.
After eight years on the road, Luke returned to the UK in the late 2000s. His musical direction now veered into the world of hard rock and he joined the highly regarded Voodoo Six as their frontman. With this formidable group of musicians, he embarked on an extensive European tour, supporting none other than the legendary heavy metal titan, Iron Maiden.
Despite his incredible track record of performing, Luke Purdie sees himself first and foremost as a songwriter. His work has been performed in arenas and stadiums worldwide and streamed on countless TV and radio stations, and this writing journey has been the inspiration for his brand new solo album “Two Sides To Me”.
Luke describes his motivation for releasing this album: “I have created a collection of some of my favourite works written over a career spanning the past 25 years. These songs tell my story in a raw, honest way that very few people in my life have even heard before”.
