Sithembile Gwala was born and raised in Umlazi Township, Durban. Her parents named her “Lungile” because she was so modest, so humble and so kind but the name was never on her birth certificate, however it later on became her stage name when she became a performer hence the name “Lungy Gwala” She attended her primary and high school education in Umlazi and then went on to study at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) for a National Diploma in Sports Management.

She has been dancing for as long as she can remember and after graduating, she decided to pursue a career as a performer of which she was previously unable to as her parents wanted her to complete school first.

In 2019 she received an opportunity to become a back up dancer for Nosipho Silinda who was on idols Season 14. In an experience which she describes as ”eye opening “ she found herself now getting exposed to and slowly learning the ins and outs of the industry.

Come 2020 she then got an opportunity to be on a Sportscene winter campaign and then in February 2020 she was casted by Blue Ivy Productions to become one of the dancers on "Jaiva" which is a Netflix original series.

Thereafter international DJ & Producer, DJ Qness saw a video of her dancing on instagram and he approached her to sign to his Cue Ness Communications label and then went on to produce her debut single “UDlala Ngam” featuring Jobe London and is now on over 300 000 views on YouTube.
