The year is 2010 and the Tromsø-based band that eventually gets the name LÜT sees its birth in hermetically sealed boys rooms where hormones and teenage anxiety were in free flow. The result is refined and distinctive rock, which captures both underground and mainstream fans.
The year is 2024 and LÜT has played at Summer Breeze (DE), Motocultor (FR), Spot Festival (DK) by:Larm, Slottsfjell, Bukta, Malakoff, Trondheim Calling, Vinje Rock, Tons Of Rock to name a few. LÜT has been nominated as newcomer of the Year at the Norwegian Grammys (2017) and P3 Gold (2017) for Live act of the year. They have received praise from Lars Ulrich (Metallica) in his podcast "It's Electric" and the album "Mersmak" from 2021 received a 5/6 in Rolling Stone Magazine, which would send them to play support for Germany's great heroes DIE ÄRZTE on a stadium tour in front of 80,000 people in 2022, and then for Skambankt on their closing tour in Norway in 2022.
14 years have passed. They have now been a band half of their life. Is the anxiety less, the shoulders lowered, the fly kicks lower? In no way. The world is still attacked with sharp claws, delicious melody lines and harsh lyrics. Lineup changes, end products are evolving, but Tromsø's proud sons still deliver a refined combination of salty, raw and unrestrained rock. Inspired by contrasts that only darkness, extreme cold, and eternal summer nights in Northern Norway can create. Welcome to the world of LÜT.
