LUUKHANYO is a dynamic South African rapper from Cape Town whose genre-blending sound fuses contemporary R&B, hip-hop, funk, and jazz. Emerging as a compelling voice in South Africa’s alternative music scene, he’s celebrated for authentic songwriting, magnetic stage presence, and bold fashion—such as wearing pieces by designer Lukhanyo Mdingi. His standout performances at MTN Bushfire, CottonFest, Smalltown Beat, Up the Creek, Retreat Yourself, Feastival, Fête de la Musique, and The Music Imbizo have earned him acclaim across diverse audiences.

His breakout single “Hii ROLLER” surpassed 3 million streams across platforms, following the success of his 2021 debut “FLOAT.” A European tour with his band The Hii ROLLERS further established his global reach and rising status in the industry.

Now backed by a London-based label, LUUKHANYO is preparing to release his debut album—an introspective and genre-defying project exploring imperfection, growth, and the search for purpose. Collaborating with artists such as SYRE, Saké, giuliette price, LordKeyyZ, and Noise Fleur, he blends live instrumentation with digital textures. With cinematic visuals crafted by Ruben Barkhuizen and Orie, the project marks a major artistic evolution.
