Luwanni, (formerly Gloryboy) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and digital artist. Born Obembe Oluwatayo Toluwani, Luwanni grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and was exposed to a diverse range of musical influences, including Yinka Ayefele, and Sunny Ade, which shaped his unique approach to Afrobeats.
Luwanni embarked on his Musical Journey in 2015 as a Psychology Undergraduate at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ifẹ, attributing his introduction to the music scene to Blaqbonez. He recorded his debut single titled "Duro Medley" in 2016, featuring KingB and Fireboy DML.
Luwanni’s talent and dedication quickly garnered recognition - in 2016, he emerged as the winner of Yung6ix's #RespeckOnMyNameCompetition, hosted by TooXclusive, while equally being nominated for the "Fresh Face of the Year".
In 2017, he qualified as a Top 100 participant in MTN King of Sounds, a competition hosted by Masterkraft. However, he took a two-year hiatus from his music journey to focus on artistic development.
Luwanni showcased his versatility during the heat of COVID19 in 2020 by co-writing and vocalizing on some of Blaqbonez's singles "Shut Up, Nyem Ego, and Road Runners ”.
Demonstrating his unwavering work ethic, Luwanni challenged himself in 2022 to release a song consistently every day for two months (62 days), capturing the interest of over a million on instagram.
Luwanni currently lives in Lagos, Nigeria.
