My name is Lyoka (Valeri Ghazaryan), I was born in the village of Leninavan (currently in Azerbaijan), which I was forced to leave with my entire family in 1991. We settled down in the village of New Maragha, which unfortunately after the war of 2020, has also gone under the control of Azerbaijan. I, as many kids of my generation, spent my whole childhood in 90s war, trying to survive the hardest years of our history. I’ve taken part in two wars: 2016 and 2020.
I have started my career as a rapper since 2011. My goal was to speak up about the hardships and obstacles we have to overcome everyday as young people. The single titled “Take Me Home”, went viral in Artsakh and Armenia and now has more than 3.9 million views on Youtube.
Later I released another single “I’m Still Alive”, which was a cooperation between a 90-year-old violinist Kima and me.
My latest single and clip “My Address is the Same'' was a successful collaboration of independent artists, such as a musician Artem Valter and Sevak Khangyan.
Throughout my art I share my life experience, my emotions and my fears.
