With origins from koin, Kitima in Guinea. Maams bounced around a few countries in West Africa. He spent his childhood in The Gambia and his teenage years in Sierra Leone before moving to Queens, New York at the age of 15.
The unique approach in Maams’ music and his ability to flow in English, Fulani, and Pidgin brings a breath of fresh air to the art. His earlier releases like ‘BOUNGINTÉ’ and ‘Bummy Samedi’ solidified his style and introduced him to the afrobeat scene.
