Machaela

Originally from Chicago, IL, Machaela [Sullivan] is a pop artist currently living in Nashille, TN. Machaela released her first E.P. “Don’t Think About It” in June of 2015 under her full name, Machaela Sullivan. The E.P. falls under the category of Pop/Country, as she had originally intended to pursue country music. As she began to grow, Machaela realized that country was not the route she wanted to take and felt that the genre felt “in-authentic”. She began writing and reaching out to different producers to help her find her sound.

At the beginning of 2019, Machaela began working with producer BJ Hill. The two of them consequently created their first collaborative single, Clouds. “Clouds is the first song that I feel really establishes who I am as an artist,” Machaela says, “Blake [BJ Hill] sent me this track that he had made and asked me if I was interested in writing to it. When I opened it up and listened for the first time, I connected with so much. It was almost euphoric. The song felt like home to me. It was so special and powerful, I started writing it immediately. It ended up capturing everything that I was feeling at the time, which was an essential time of growth both musically and personally. It’s pretty interesting to look back on.” At that time, Machaela decided to continue in the pop direction. She is now working on a series of songs that represent that growth.
