With a crystalline country vocal and a gift for emotional storytelling, BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville artist Madeline Merlo is a rising star with an old soul and new school edge. The Platinum-certified songwriter first broke through with “Champagne Night,” a three-week No. 1 for Lady A after she won Season 2 of NBC’s Songland. Born in British Columbia, Merlo grew up on ‘90s country and powerhouse vocals—from Faith Hill to Aretha Franklin—and started writing songs and visiting Nashville by age 16. She later earned Canada’s CCMA Rising Star award and signed her first record deal at 18. Named to CMT’s Next Women of Country class of 2024, she’s since racked up over 10 million Spotify streams on the sassy “It Didn’t” and released her Slide EP in 2022. Her latest project, One House Down (from the girl next door), is her most personal yet: a six-song message of self-worth and empowerment. Originally released last fall, the EP is now being revived with the Single Version of fan-favorite “Middle of the Bed”—a sultry standout that showcases Merlo’s signature blend of vulnerability, strength, and style. On tour this summer across the U.S. and Canada.
