"Madrone the band is a human. Or maybe not even a human but still a living breathing beautiful damaged imperfect organism. Their EDM (Eponymous Debut Masterpiece) is filled with so much love. It’s also filled with so much evil. This album is trauma dumping and love bombing. Its unrelenting in its gallop. It’s discovering true love. It’s having your heart broken and repaired broken and repaired, as is life. Madrone is life. They say art imitates life. Do you see what i’m saying man? Do you see?? You hear what im saying to you? If you don’t it’s time to open your eyes and ears because finally there is a band that really does have the answers. They have the best hand with the biggest pot. They have the best poker face. They know they will win the hand but they still might fold just to be funny. They sit in their room alone getting high and drinking a tall can modelo chelada watching movies and reading books and writing stories and listening to records and playing gamecube and dissecting frogs and playing with matches and eating burritos and knitting and taking naps and calling out of work and exploring the reality of their existence in ways much deeper than any of us can imagine.
