This UK psychedelic pop band comprised Jim Thomas (guitar/vocals), Jack Collins (drums), Stan Curtis (organ) and Melvyn Hacker (bass). Their sole album from 1968, This Is, is regarded as one of the better examples of the psych pop genre, featuring engaging instrumental work on tracks such as ‘(I’m So) Sad’, ‘Urge To Leave’ and ‘Slowly The Day’. Attempts at humour, notably on ‘Motorbike Song’, were less successful. Sadly, in common with many of the acts on Saga Records in the late 60s, the album was poorly pressed and circulated in limited quantities. However, residual interest in the group resulted in a CD reissue by German label Bat Records in 1987, and a UK reissue on Merlin Records in 1993. After the band’s demise Thomas went on to session work, his former compatriots dropping out of the music business.
