“ magichatchris is a multi-disciplinary creative primarily known for his guitar playing. His sound which is on one hand a fluid synthesis of Hip-Hop, Jazz, R&B and Soul music on the other is emotionally provoking and drenched in a spiritual confluence. The result is a sonic language unique to the artist himself, full of nuance and at the same time, a subtlety found amongst the great minds in the art form. He has done work for a variety of artists including, Chance the Rapper and BJRNCK. Though usually a feature on records, magichatchris and the singer-like quality of his playing inspired a solo album titled ‘theSEWERS’ that details a deep inner turmoil juxtaposed by a bare serene energy. The project, though mostly instrumental expresses this contrast through his spirituality which suggests energetically a space can be occupied by an assortment of different vibrations all at once. So then you have a little sorrow in happiness and great pain with a bit of sweetness.”
