Heavy, fast and melodic. Straightforward, electrifying and direct. All this emanating from its essence a brightness so powerful that it does not go unnoticed in the ears of lovers of heavy rock. This is the Magnus Lumen - from the great Latin luminescence.
Following the source of this intense and vibrant light we arrived at Rodrigo Barros, who in 2002, after leaving the band Swipe and dedicate himself to the composition of new materials, returns with his new project, the power metal band Magnus Lumen.
Since then Magnus Lumen has undergone several formations until in 2009 the lineup has stabilized with Júnior Lopes (guitar), Rogério Souza (drums) and Glaucio Cancion (bass). It is with this powerful quartet that Magnus Lumen worked on his first EP: Nênia.
After a deep reformulation between 2011 and 2015, the band joins forces with bassist Pedro Crispi, keyboardist Rodrigo Rodrigues and vocalist James Anselmo. This formation records the successor of Nénia, the first album of the group called Baptism of Fire, produced by Rodrigo Barros.
The album was finally released on September 7, 2018, but the band was already experiencing a prolonged hiatus due to the change of drummer Rogério Souza to the south of the country, in addition to the parallel projects of the other members.
