MAÍA is a Colombian singer, born on the Caribbean coast, known for her prodigious voice and her versatility in being able to sing diverse musical genders, such as pop, soul, jazz, rock, salsa and afrocaribbean folklore. MAÍA has been recognized as “La niña bonita” since she first started her career, back in 2002, thanks to her first tropical single “Niña Bonita”.
Since she was very young. But it was in 1998 when she participated and won "Colombia suena bien"that everything changed. It was a national contest organized by Sony Music Colombia who Colombia, who after that, signed her. has collaborated with national and international artists such as Juanes, Fonseca, Carlos Vives, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Luis Enrique, Franco De Vita, Armando Manzanero, Grupo Acarey, among others.
She has received two Latin Grammy nominations for her work.
On 2017 Maía lived one of the most iconic and special moments of her career when she was summoned to sing the Gospel for the papal Mass of Pope Francis in Colombia in front of 1.5 million people.
