Maii Waleed

Maii Waleed's musical style is hard to miss in modern-day music. A multidisciplinary artist, Maii thrives through her songwriting that is fluid and free from constructs. Using different instruments, Maii's expression finds its way in unique, authentic yet simple forms of music and lyrics.

Growing up in Alexandria, Egypt, Maii was among a leading group of musicians who paved the way for the vibrant underground music scene in the second biggest city of Egypt. Through studying film, Maii became a part of Cairo's underground music scene, collaborating with various international, regional and local artists. Maii's collaborations grow as her career grows. She continues to nourish projects such as Ritza along with Maii and Zeid. Each of Maii's projects reflects an aspect of her character offering a whole spectrum of her creative output and connection to her music. Maii's songs and compositions have been used in film and art variously.

Maii has been a performer since she was a child and she enjoys sharing herself with loving and attentive crowds. She's one of a few that truly set the stage for alternative pop music and song-writing in the Arab region.
