Miguel Angel “Maikol” Agosto Jr was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, on November 20th, 1989, to loving Puerto Rican parents. His passion for music came from a very young age, when his father, (a lifelong Salsa fan) would always play Salsa music around the house. Young Maikol would learn these songs and sing along to them wherever he went. He would sing at family and friends parties, showcasing his talent and passion. He studied music throughout all of grade school. He studied at Boys Harbor, Harlem School of the Arts, Berklee College of Music (Summer Program), and eventually attended and graduated from Five Towns College with a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance. While he learned how to play Conga at Harlem School of the Arts, he taught himself how to play Bongo and Timbales. In the late 90’s, he sang with Michael Stuart at Orchard Beach, Frankie Negrón in Puerto Rico and multiple times in New York. He always struggled to find other kids that were into Salsa as much as he was. After graduating from college, he tried getting into some bands with no luck. During the pandemic, he decided to create his own opportunities and start making his own music. Using the vast array of information from the internet, he picked up some tips and tricks on how to record, mix and master music. The result being his debut album “Encontrando Mi Camino”, where he wrote, produced, mixed and mastered every song.
