Maïna

Member of a famous family of Saint-Louisian intellectuals, Maïmouna Sourang, A.K.A Maina, was very far from embracing a musical career.
However, the passion that drives her has taken over the course that had been laid out for her.
From a very young age, music has always been an important thing in her life.
Maïna thus gradually matures with the influence of the different divas of African music.
From there, came her unique and personal style oscillating between an interesting mix with the only anchor: her imagination. From 2015 onwards, endowed with a well-mastered swing, she has been following in the footsteps of Amy Winehouse Dee Dee Bridgewater, Aminata Fall and Adele, among others.
Maina is an emergency ambassador of her generation. Her music is inspired by the traditional songs of our lands but also by jazz and soul. She writes and composes her songs that are inspired by social issues, particularly women issues and their place in society.
She has also collaborated with several artists such as Faada freddy, Ablaye cissokho, Hervé Samb and Habib Faye.
In 2018, she released her first EP Massilo where she paid tribute to Omar Pene through the title "mujje".
