Mainstream Scare is a metal outfit known for blending intensity, melody, and raw emotion into a sound that resonates across sub-genres. Formed in 2009, the band quickly generated buzz with their debut EP Seven, gaining traction within the metal community and beyond. Their music caught fire after being featured in Metal Mulisha's iconic freestyle motocross videos, launching them into wider recognition and landing them spots on larger stages and festival lineups.
The momentum continued with the release of their follow-up EP For The Record, which cracked the top 100 on iTunes during its first week—solidifying their growing underground following. After a lineup change in 2013, the band played a sold-out farewell show and entered an indefinite hiatus, leaving fans wondering what could have been.
Nearly a decade later, the global COVID-19 pandemic became an unexpected catalyst. Founding members Kenneth Hunter (guitar), James Marquez (vocals), and Colin Friedman (drums) reconnected, reigniting the creative chemistry that had once powered the band. Stronger than ever and more focused, Mainstream Scare is set to release their long-awaited debut full-length album in 2025. Leading the charge is the powerful single and music video “ALONE,” marking a bold new chapter in the band’s legacy.
