Les Petits Chanteurs de Strasbourg was founded in 2001 under the direction of Philippe Utard. Since 2013 the
ensemble has been directed by the Franco-Argentinian conductor and composer Luciano Bibiloni. It is now
seen as a fine reference in the musical life of Alsace. Its characteristics are a eclectic repertoire, original works
and a high artistic quality, fruits of a close cooperation with the Opéra national du Rhin.
Since 2009 the choir is proud to be associated with the ONR’s lyric program successfully performing on its
prestigious stages. Additionally, the Petits Chanteurs de Strasbourg develop their own concert program in
France and abroad, and thus promoting the image of the Opera, Strasbourg and the Alsace region.
The Maîtrise is composed of 145 choristers, both girls and boys, aged 7-18, and divided according to their age into
five sub-choirs, thus allowing the Maîtrise to adjust to the ability and background of each individual. A male voice
choir completes the ensemble opening up the possibility for the Petits Chanteurs de Strasbourg to perform a
wide spectrum of vocal repertoire, from soloist to large choir, including equal and mixed voices.
