Major AJ

Major AJ, born Ajogwu Boluwatife Vincent, is a Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, songwriter, and rapper. Hailing from Benue State, his formative years were spent in Kainji, Niger State, where his late soldier father and English tutor/trader mother shaped his early life. Despite pursuing a Computer Science degree at the University of Ilorin, his passion for music remained unwavering. Influenced by Hip-Hop giants like Lil Wayne, Drake, and the Choc Boys, he honed his craft while balancing academics. His university years were marked by electrifying performances at events such as the Dremo Campus Tour, Trybe Ark Fest, and Ilorin Walk on Water Fashion Show.

Upon graduation in 2019, Major AJ began his music journey, releasing his debut single "Terminator" in February 2020 followed by the release of "Original Love" in April of the same year. His breakthrough came in 2021 with "SALO," which landed him a record deal with Chocolate City Music. In July 2022, he dropped his debut EP, "Retroverse," showcasing his artistic growth. His collaboration with Blaqbonez on the single "My Own" in June 2023 set him up as a talent to watch and 2024’s “Some Kind Things” starring Minz and Psycho YP further solidified his position in the Nigerian music scene.
