MakeUpBreakUp

MakeupBreakup is the electro alt rock duo of Michael Lamantia Jr. and Alexander Laorenza from Providence, RI. MakeupBreakup formed in the wake of A Trillion Barnacle Lapse, a post-hardcore outfit that Michael and Alexander were founding members of. Spearheaded by Michael's songwriting and production, the duo was signed to S.A.F. Records out of CA in 2008 for their debut release, We Prefer Not To... The EP was a catalyst to a period of high activity for the band, writing, recording, touring, and adding bassist Eric McNeil to the mix. Two full lengths followed in rapid succession, with Scents and The Italian Nightmare being digitally released by imprint Cozy Music. MakeupBreakup went dark for much of the 2010s, releasing the Tight Lies EP in 2013. They re-emerged in 2023 with The Dose LP, a mature, ambitious, well-constructed collection of tracks they have crafted over the course of the early 2020s.
