Emerging from the shadows of London’s sprawling underground, Maleficus is a four-piece band forging a sound where atmospheric metal, hardcore, and metalcore collide. With two guitarists, a seismic bassist, and a drummer who hits like a collapsing building, they create dense, towering soundscapes that feel far larger than their lineup suggests. Drawing from Periphery, Ice Nine Kills, Sunami, and the emotional weight of Linkin Park, Maleficus move between bleak ambience and feral aggression with effortless tension and release. One moment you’re floating through shimmering post-metal haze; the next, the floor drops out into a crushing breakdown. Their music thrives in that contrast, fragility versus fury, melody versus mayhem.
