Hailing from Aarhus on the east coast of Denmark, MALMØ features the unique voice and song-writing of Maria Malmø. Multiple releases and immersive live performances across Europe have seen her likened to Björk, Agnes Obel and sometime collaborator Eivør – but there's a unique musical identity and integrity to her work that defies comparison.

To Maria Malmø, it's all about the art and meeting the listener within it: "I dream of touching people with my music, reaching their – and my own – inner core. I believe that music can do that, and that there's a need for art that inspires the good in people. I think we all need that in this world on the edge of self-destruction."

MALMØ's releases have garnered wide critical acclaim, particularly in the UK & the Nordics, with spot plays on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Ulster, Amazing Radio, Shoreditch Radio, US radio including Seattle's super-cool KEXP, Danish national radio & Spotify editorial support across the Nordics and Asia.

MALMØ's debut album 'We Come From The Stars' was released in 2018, via Danish indie Songcrafter Music & longstanding UK tastemaker label Integrity Records, showcasing emotive folk sparkle mixed with sparse Nordic minimalism.

2021's 'The Inevitable End EP' saw Maria exploring a more experimental side in electronica, co-produced with Berlin-based sound designer Christian Tronhjem, with soaring vocals, ominous beats, beautiful harmonies & haunting codas.
