Mama Joy Rising has been on the scene since the early turn of the century, barefoot and busking, performing for women's gatherings, primitive skills shares, house concerts, and local charities; speaking and singing for the people that need her voice the most. Her energy and words have a way of bringing people of all walks together to revel in the bittersweetness of their common struggles and triumphs, and to look forward to discovering their part in creating a more heart centered world. Her songs and spoken word pieces address injustice and redemption and talk of the vortex of victimhood and the journey toward personal empowerment.
