Mando is one of the renowned and commercial Greek artists, who has charted her own unique course. She was born and raised in Athens by her jazz pianist father, Nikos Stamatopoulos and a classic soprano opera mother, Mary Apergi. From a young age she began to develop her talent and interest in music and was characterized as a “born musician”. She has sung for various orchestras and as a member of various jazz groups and trios, working with music in all its textures: jazz, Greek, European, American, and Arabic. In 1981 she entered the discography, participating under the name Mandy in Motorcycle-Granny. Her first solo album, entitled “Dos Mou Ena Fili… Ayto To Kalokairi” was released in 1989 and, since then, Manto has not stopped giving dozens of hits. Inaugurating her collaboration with Panik, she released the album “Vradines Diadromes” in December 2021. Among others, she penned the track “Where You Are” for Jessica Simpson, which has been chosen as the theme song to 20th century Fox’s film production titled “Here on Earth” and has sold more than one million copies. Her television presence is equally rich, such as in the shows “Your Face Sounds Familiar” and “Just The 2 Of Us”, while in 2003 she represented Greece at Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Never Let You Go”.
