Emmanuel Msendoo Akumba’s craft explores the relationship between RnB/Soul and Afrobeats while beautifully honing a distinct sound to call his own. With influences as variegated as Beyoncé to Frank Ocean to Wizkid, he has been able to successfully study the patterns of music’s greats and it is no surprise that he is flourishing.

The Nigerian Singer/Songwriter and Rapper has always been a childhood prodigy and a dedicated music-lover. The hope of being a music star from childhood, soon finessed into a fiesta of burning passion, leaving only a sensation of unreality and the predestined new beginning. He began his professional music journey in 2019 accidentally, when his older brother installed a music studio in their bedroom. An unexpected drift from Veterinary Doctor, to Music Artist.

“Mannie” as he is fondly called by peers and colleagues, rose to local popularity with his RemedyMRL-produced 2020 debut single: “Synonym”, from which he got buzz by the music streaming platform: Audiomack. He has gone ahead to release 5 studio EPs (Limbo, Bloom & Bramble, The Vaccine, Timeline and ECHOLOCATION) and 20 singles.

Constantly applauded by peers for his work rate, he is considered a studio rat as he is always working and creating projects. His collaboration, The Wire is an explanation of his diversity.

His 5th studio EP, ECHOLOCATION is his most intricate work yet, boasting 9 singles containing a mix of R&B, Afrobeats, Neo-Soul and Hip-Hop.
