Manuel Mind, born in Bern in 1972, is considered a pioneer of the Bernese techno scene.
As a visitor to Boumi B's acid parties at Dampfzentrale, he organized the first house parties in Bern from 1989 onwards. The first techno parties with Karma Sutra soon followed in Bern and Zurich. In 1992 he produced the acid house project “Energy Flash” with Marco Repetto (ex-Grauzone) on Trigger Records Frankfurt. In 1993 he put together one of the first trance compilations ever: “Sonic Trance”.
From the mid-90s he worked as a chill-out DJ in the Zurich clubs Sensor, OXA and Grodonia as well as at countless raves such as “Cubik”, “Energy” and “Futurescope”.
For the Energetic label he put together half a dozen compilations with national techno acts: “Future Sound Of Zurich” was the name of the series.
As A&R for the Yello label Solid Pleasure Continental, he was responsible for three maxis and a compilation.
In 2001, as a duo Manuel Mind & Valentino Tomasi, he recorded the 12" single "Strange Sounds" on the New York label A Touch Of Class (ATOC) with remixes by Waldorf and label co-operator Oliver Stumm (the "Robot" remix was a nod to Italo disco legend Alexander Robotnick). In 2013 Mijk van Dijk delivered a “Boogie Remix”.
In 2011, Manuel Mind founded the duo Too Late Productions with Tom Mandolini (ex Tanga Chicks feat. Dimitri & Tom "Brasil Over Zurich", 1999).
