Maqyl is a 21-year old, independent artist from Malaysia whose music is deeply inspired by people around him. The stillness of being at home during the pandemic helped him carve out time to create music about his emotions and experiences that have come to play a central role in his life.
Even though he started making music in 2017, Maqyl officially dropped his first single, "Somebody Like You" in 2020. Following shortly after came "Twinkle," in May 2020, which gradually became a favorite with staunch fans and continued to captivate listeners’ hearts. Already having proven his versatility and unpretentious risk-taking with new sounds, his third single, "One in a Million," was just one of his many bold forays into uncharted territory with minimal risk in the rhythmic track, "Ride with Me," or releasing "Slow Dance," a heartfelt ballad.
On his debut EP, Entrée, six tracks sample his developing artistry, enamoring fans with his unique melodies and evolving production.
Maqyl will be returning with the official release of his latest single, "Lose You" – a personal song about love, devotion and the fear of losing someone that is a match made in heaven – in January 2025.
