Marco was introduced to music at a young age by his grandmother, a piano teacher, who instilled a deep love and appreciation for the craft. She began teaching him piano at age 7, flying from Ohio to Florida to give lessons on a 100+ year-old piano she passed down to his family. Those early lessons laid the foundation for his musical journey.
He eventually picked up guitar with the help of a Berklee-trained musician and now plays acoustic and electric guitar, piano, and ukulele. He found his voice through years of leading worship at church, where he developed both his vocal ability and a strong connection to the spiritual side of music.
His sound aims to be genuine, natural, and intimate, as if you’re sitting in his living room listening to him play. Influenced by The Beatles, John Mayer, João Gilberto, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Nara Leão, Elis Regina, Ella Fitzgerald, and many others, Marco blends heartfelt melodies and timeless rhythms with a personal touch.
Romance, heartbreak, longing, musings, and visual storytelling are core themes in his music. Some verses are grounded in reality and experience, while others reflect mere ideals, hopes, and dreams.
