Marco Centasso is an eclectic musician active both in jazz and contemporary music. He began his musical journey studying piano, later moving to electric bass and finally to double bass, graduating in jazz performance.
He is a founding member of the experimental jazz trio Ophir, with whom he released a debut album in 2018, and of the quintet RAME, with whom he published two albums: the self-titled RAME (EmmeRecord, 2019) and Oscura Era (Wow Records, 2021). Since 2016, he has also collaborated with Chironomids Outerspace Group, an ensemble led by composer Giovanni Mancuso, performing contemporary works at venues such as Teatro Malibran (Venice) and Teatro Comunale (Treviso).
He has performed at numerous international festivals including Sibiu Jazz Festival (Romania), Niš Jazz Festival(Serbia), Roccella Jazz Festival (Italy), and Cracow Jazz Juniors (Poland). In 2021, he was selected for the Italian National Jazz Young Talents Orchestra (ONJGT), performing at Umbria Jazz, JAZZMI, Casa del Jazz (Rome), and Nantes Jazz Festival (France).
In 2022, he released Hidden Rooms, his first album as a bandleader, with Parco della Musica Records.
On May 9, 2025, he released his second album, Um/Welt, once again with Parco della Musica Records. The project will be presented at major national and international jazz festivals.
