Margareta Paslaru has been singing Romanian pop songs and traditional folk tunes of her homeland for more than a quarter of a century. According to "The Morning Star" newspaper of London, Paslaru "sings in a voluptuous Dietrich-like voice." Although Paslaru recorded more than two hundred tunes, none are currently available outside Romania. In 1998, Paslaru made her first tour of the United States in thirteen years. During the tour, she became a designated member of honor in UNESCO's Club Romania and received a "Diploma of Honor" from UNICEF. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
