Singer-Songwriter Mari was born Omari Grampus on November 6th 1993 in Harlem NY, but grew up in upstate New York,in a small town called Spring Valley in Rockland County. Mari is a R&B, Soul, and Pop artist who enjoyed singing in the church choir growing up. Some of his biggest influences are Micheal Jackson, Musiq Soulchild, Chris Brown, H.E.R, J-Cole, Drake and Bryson Tiller.
Music has always been apart of Mari’s family. Growing up his dad and sister would sing constantly around the house and his uncle and cousin were musically inclined both playing the drums and piano. This instilled musical sense in him that allowed him to express himself musically. He started recording music in 2019 with a goal in mind to connect with his listeners and remind them that they weren’t alone in life.
As Mari’s music career progresses his goal is to inspire and connect with his fans and listeners. He strives to be known as an artist who creates beautiful, fun and sensible records that can uplift or enhance the mood of its listener. As an avid music lover himself, Mari has personally witnessed music change his life as well as propel him through numerous life situations, both good or bad.
