Maria Gillard Trio

Maria Gillard Trio consists of Maria Gillard-Songwriter, Vocals, and guitar, Perry Cleaveland- mandolin, fiddle and vocals, and Doug Henrie- Upright Bass. The trio resides in the Finger Lakes region of New York State and perform throughout the region as well as parts of New York State. The music is upbeat, witty and flavored with a mix of folk, bluegrass, country and swingy jazz. Maria Gillard has been writing and performing since 1982 in various folk and jazz outfits. She has 7 recordings to her name, one including a collaboration with Scott Regan, a Rochester songwriter and DJ. Perry Cleaveland is a stellar mandolinist who has played in a variety of bluegrass bands and is a sought-after accompanist with many singers in the Finger Lakes. Doug Henrie is an Upright Bass player who is also sought after in the Finger Lakes, has played with many bluegrass bands including the Woodshed All-Stars, and was a primary player in a theatre production about the life of Woody Guthrie. The trio teems with spirit, heart and genuine musicality! Their concerts are extremely entertaining and encourage audience participation with fervor!
