Maria Køhnke is a Copenhagen-based singer, producer, and songwriter with a rich and multifaceted career in music. In addition to her solo work, she is a sought-after supporting musician, known for her contributions on backing vocals, keyboards, and guitar for a wide range of Danish and international artists.
Respected across genres, Køhnke’s musical journey has taken her from performing in a folk trio with Kresten Osgood and composing instrumental pieces for Rose Eken’s installation art, to backing house bands on television and touring with Swedish pop icon Robyn. Her vocal and arrangement work features on numerous notable recordings, including Swan Lee’s "I Don’t Mind", Niels Skousen’s "Lyt til din coach", and tracks by American singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins.
Her debut solo album, Collector (2007), received critical acclaim and featured collaborations with Christian Bech (Pleasure Machine) and Sune Wagner (The Raveonettes). Following a break from music—during which she established a successful career in digital design, contributing to projects such as the original version of MobilePay—Køhnke returned with the 2020 EP Don't Look, created in collaboration with Anders Stig Møller (Turboweekend) and Fredrik Okazaki (Robyn, Röyksopp).
Now, Maria Køhnke is back with new material, continuing to craft her own sonic universe while drawing on a wealth of experience from across the musical spectrum.
