Oxnard, California's very own formed in 2002 as noisy dilettantes before evolving into an indie pop group with the release of their first single in the Spring of 2006, launching YAY! Records(Sea Lions, Catwalk, The Tartans, and more). A one-sided 5" followed in April 2007, "I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts", accompanying the YAY! Fanzine(YAY! 3). June 2007 saw the release of their second and acclaimed 7", "Friends Forever"(YAY! 4). That summer Maria toured the north-west coast with K Records artist Jeremy Jay. The long awaited follow up 7", "Love Is Something I Know Nothing About"(YAY! 10) arrived in 2009. The band intially came to an end as YAY! Records folded in 2010 before reuniting after 13 years in 2023 with the relaunch of YAY! Records.
2024 saw the release of new singles "I Will Remember You" and " Change Your Mind" as well as a cover of The Velvet Underground's "I'm Set Free" for a Velvet Underground compilation for the 2024 Oakland Weekender. An acoustic EP was released December 2024 via YAY! Records.
2025 saw the release of single "My Valentine"sung by Momo Ortiz.
The debut album is set for Fall 2025 via YAY! Records.
