Mariadela

Originally from Peru, US based singer songwriter Mariadela, aka MAR, has been 12+ years on a musical journey. Winner of SOTY (2007) and Premio Orgullo Peruano (2009), (s)he fusions folk/blues acoustic pop in an indie fashion, composing and singing in both Spanish and English. MAR, whose crisp, and distinctive voice bring off a style, is also a multi instrumentalist who pleases the audience playing guitar, harmonica, and percussion in live shows.
MAR has actively produced albums next DJ Charly from Mexico, known for over 400 remixes of artists like Paulina Rubio, Ricky Martin and Moenia, and Dany Tomas (Warner Music) who has written hits and produced Cristian Castro, Martha Sánchez, Lara Fabian, and Eric Sasha y Beni. Tomas has received 4 Grammy nominations, 5 for MTV Latin America, and 13 to the The Latin Billboard Awards.
As a gender-fluid Latinx, and advocate of the LGTBQI community, MAR made the headlines when kissing same sex singer & former duo-partner at the Latin Billboard Music Awards 2012.
MAR tours different cities of North and Latin America, and has brought music and charisma to The House of Blues Hollywood, The House of Blues Houston, Universal City Walk Hollywood, The Paramount Theater, Raleigh Studios, Hollywood Studio, The Hotel Cafe, Miami Art Basel, Miami White Party, Festival Lesbico (Coyoacán- Mexico), La Estación de Barranco, La Noche, (Lima- Peru) and many other venues.
MAR is currently producing a new EP with LA producer Billy Lefler.
