Marinus, the official name of Dutch house and tech-house producer & DJ Rien Welsink, residing between Ibiza and Amsterdam. Rien produces melodic, rhythmic, dark and underground house tracks, that deliver power and a certain “bounce” for the dancefloors.
Inspiration comes from artists like Vintage Culture, Marco Carola and Hot Since 82, but also producers like Noah James Shebib (40) and Travis Scott. Latest releases of Marinus get supported by artists under Jamie Jones's Hot Creations and Hottrax.
At the age of 13 Rien Welsink was playing guitar in his own rock/metal band together with 4 of his high school friends, writing their own songs and performing in local bars and concerts. Later on, he started producing tech-house and minimal techno. With releases on labels as “Underground Berlin” (2016) from Germany and “Dushe” (2019) based in Ukraine. Simoultaniously also making his mark producing for the Dutch hip-hop and trap scene. including co-writing and producing the track “Babygirl” for Sluwe Ollie (2020) which has close to 200.000 streams on Spotify.
Rien Welsink heart is with electronic music. With influences from both hip-hop, afrobeat and reggaeton he's making his return in 2025 with new and fresh releases and support from artists in the house and tech-house scene.
