Marisa Buchheit is an acclaimed operatic soprano and classical crossover artist hailing from Chicago, Illinois. She sings in twelve languages, including those of her own ethnic heritage: Thai, Chinese, and German. Her style is classified by her sweet vocal timbre, honest interpretations and undeniable warmth in her sound.
Marisa’s debut album was released in 2012, under the name Mari Therese “All Yours”. Having just completed a rigorous conservatory training at the Cleveland Institute of Music, her first album was an artistic rebellion. She chose to break through the boundaries of her classical training, and expose the raw emotion of her original melodies through a classical-infused folk style, incorporating strings and acoustic instruments to accompany her supple vocal tones. Her upcoming EP release, “Plaisir d’amour”, will be a realization of her growth and development as an artist over the last 10 years. The songs she’ll share have a resounding message of love, and include simple guitar and string arrangements. Marisa’s artistic journey continues to unfold as she explores her multi-cultural background, travel and life experiences, and her many musical influences and mentors. Artists featured on her upcoming EP include 99theproducer, Eugene Kaler and Daniel McMurray.
Marisa's influences include Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, John Riesen, Anna Netrebko, Renée Fleming and Jeanine de Bique.
