Faroese artist Marius Ziska got his breakthrough on the Faroe Islands in 2015 with the album "Home /Heim" - a vinyl with Faroese lyrics on one side and English on the other. The album was also released in Denmark and Germany to great reviews, and the band toured live in Russia, Denmark and Germany + Ziska supported Faroese friend Eivør on an extensive European tour. The new album "Portur" with only Faroese lyrics came out in June 2018. The single "Silvurlín" received lots of airplay in both The Faroe Islands, Iceland and Denmark.
Ziska is first of all a wonderful singer - by many compared to artists like Bon Iver or Chris Martin from Coldplay. The band is a tightly knit unit with a sound not quite unlike The War On Drugs. The new album "Portur" was mastered by Gregg Calbi who has worked with both TWOD, Cigarettes After Sex and The National.
