Mark Bonafide is an award-winning rap and R&B artist, songwriter, and producer who has profoundly influenced Singapore’s music scene. He began his career in 2001 as part of “Bonafide,” a pioneering duo with Singapore Idol winner Taufik Batisah. Together, they introduced a unique blend of R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop, laying the foundation for a new era in local music.
In 2009, Mark released his debut solo album, The Bonafide Experience, co-produced by Don Richmond. The album topped local charts for two weeks, with its hit single “So Bonafide” winning the COMPASS ‘Song of the Year’ award in 2010. His music video for “Hey Girl” became a music TV favorite, and he made national TV appearances, including the 2011 New Year’s Eve countdown.
Mark’s career took him to stages across Asia, Australia, and Russia, where he performed alongside Grammy-nominated acts like the Black Eyed Peas and Craig David. In 2015, he released LV/RBL (Love Rebel), featuring the single “U Thought” with Taufik Batisah. Beyond music, Mark served as a judge for The Food Bank Singapore’s online talent show in 2020, was a panelist at the 2022 Singapore Writers Festival, and saw his debut album archived by the National Library Board.
